Where is the cat?

Where is the cat?

Read Paul's description of his houserooms and furniture, and pay atention to the prepositions.

"I live at 23 Maple Street. My house is between the bakery and the park. The school is across the street.

My house has two floors. The living room is on the first floor, and the kitchen is next to it. There's a dining room beside the kitchen, and a bathroom under the stairs. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms. My parents' room is on the left, my sister's room is on the right, and my room is in the middle.

My room is cozy. My bed is in the corner, next to the window. My desk is in front of the bed, and my chair is next to the desk. The bookshelf is beside the door, and my favorite posters are above my bed.

Now, where is my cat? Oh, there she is! She's under the desk, on the carpet."

At, between, on, next to, etc. are prepositions of place. They are used to provide additional information about the location of a person or object in relation to other/s.
