What you should know

By the end of this section, you will be able to describe someone's personality. Remember that adjectives are the most important words when describing people's character. Here you have some tips that can help you succeed in this activity.

Adjectives are essential

A perfect psychological description should include as many adjectives as possible. You can describe how people behave, think or work; how people act or speak; how happy, friendly or kind they are or how people relate to each other.

Positive or Negative

People's personality is complex. We can have positive and negative qualities at the same time. Use both.

Al final de esta sección serás capaz de describir la personalidad de alguien. Recuerda que los adjetivos son las palabras más importantes a la hora de describir el carácter de las personas. 

Una descripción psicológica debe incluir tantos adjetivos como sea posible. Los adjetivos describen cómo se comportan las personas, cómo trabajan o piensan; describen cómo actúan o hablan, cómo son de felices, simpáticos o amables, o cómo se relacionan con los demás.

Además, nuestra personalidad es compleja. Podemos tener cualidades positivas y negativas al mismo tiempo. Utiliza ambas.

What are they like?

 This is your second task. It is a Listening Comprehension Task. That means that you will have to listen to the audio file and answer questions about it.

Emma is the person who is talking about her housemates. You will listen to her describing Sarah, Robert, Jason and Charlotte's physical appearance and personality. As you listen carefully, you have to complete the text with the missing words and make a list with some of the adjectives. 

You can download the text document with the "Listening Comprehension Task" here (click) and save in your device, or print and write down your answers by hand. Then, either the case, write your answers and send it to your teacher in ".PDF" format. Convert your file using an online converter, such as online-convert (click).

This writing task will be evaluated according to the following checklist (click).

Ésta será tu segunda actividad. Se trata de una tarea de comprensión oral, lo que quiere decir que tendrás que escuchar un audio y responder preguntas sobre lo que has oído.

En este caso vas a escuchar a Emma describiendo el aspecto físico y la personalidad de sus cuatro compañeros de piso: Sarah, Robert, Jason and Charlotte. A medida que vayas escuchando, tienes que completar el texto con las palabras que faltan y hacer una lista con algunos de los adjetivos.

Puedes descargar el documento de texto con la "tarea de comprensión oral" aquí (click) y guardarlo en tu dispositivo, o puedes imprimirlo y escribir tus respuestas a mano.
